PACT hosts two training conferences during the school year.
Dates for 2011-12 are:
Fall Conference - Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at First Christian Church of Falls Church, Arlington, VA
Spring Conference - Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Cedar Lane Unitarian Church in Bethesda, MD
At the Fall conference, participants choose two workshops from a varied selection of topics. Each session lasts one and a half hours. Typical Fall conference schedule:
9:00 - 9:30 AM Registration, refreshments, displays and exhibits
9:30 - 9:45 AM Business meeting
9:45 - 11:15 AM First workshop session
11:15 - 11:45AM Break - light lunch is served
11:45 - 1:15pm Second workshop session
The Spring conference features a well-known guest speaker whose three-hour presentation focuses on a topic of interest in early childhood education. Typical Spring conference schedule:
9:00 - 9:30 AM Registration, refreshments, displays and exhibits
9:30 - 9:45 AM Business meeting
9:45 - 1:15 PM Guest speaker
A light lunch is served during a mid-morning break.
Participants earn three clock hours of continued training in ECE at each conference.
Exhibitors display a wide variety of educational materials. A resource table is also available for members to share information.
